Zoom Rules and Procedures
Local 935 Member:
You are invited to a Zoom meeting.
When: Mar 19, 2026 09:30 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)
In order to join the union meeting, you must register in advance: You MUST register with the SAME NAME and EMAIL that Local935 has on file, otherwise you will not be able to attend the meeting.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting and the LINK. After you receive this and click the link, you will have access to the Zoom meeting Waiting room. Once meeting starts and Host verifies your information, you will be allowed into the Zoom meeting past the waiting room. Please log in promptly, as late arrivals may not be admitted on time.
****YOU MUST REGISTER TO THE ZOOM MEETING WITH THE SAME NAME AND EMAIL YOU ARE REGISTERED WITH LOCAL 935, OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO JOIN, AND WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE WAITING ROOM****
RULES: MUST READ. BY LOGGING ON YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE FOLOWING TERMS.
1. NO RECORDING. No recording in any fashion, either thru Zoom recording, internal devices (such as screen recorders), external devices (such as via camera, recorder, Ipad, tablet, etc…), and recording of actual phone/device. Member will be removed from meeting, and will be in risk of disciplinary action.
2. MAINTAIN YOUR CAMERA ON AT ALL TIMES. This is to ensure that only members of our Local are present during the meeting. If need to “step out”, place yourself on the waiting room or disconnect. Host will then allow into Zoom room when you are back.
3. NO HOSTILE, AGGRESSIVE, DISRUPTIVE, or any behavior that may impede the normal proceeding of the meeting will be allowed. Keyboard warriors will be muted, removed, and possibly banned from all meetings.
4. Only 1 member per Zoom account at a time, and 1 person per device. For example, if there are multiple Local 935 members attempting to view the meeting, each person shall login using their own invite and own device. This rule is in place to prevent non-members from logging in and observing the meetings. It is the same as in person, only members are allowed into the Union Hall during Union meetings.
5. To maintain order, decorum, and natural flow of the meeting, which is required by IAFF: all members will be muted, and general chat will be disabled. If you have a pressing question or matter during the meeting, please use the “raise hand” feature on Zoom, or directly message the Host (Sargeant At-Arms). The host (Sargeant At-Arms) will either unmute you or request that you type out your question or concern on the private chat. SARG will then inform the presiding officer, who will then direct the SARG to unmute the member and be allowed the floor.
***if there are multiple questions, comments, concerns, Host/presiding officer will unmute based on the sequence in which hands were raised***
Procedure:
1. Use “Raise Hand” feature, or direct message the Host.
2. Once Host recognizes your question/concern, Host will inform presiding officer.
3. Member will then be unmuted and allowed the floor once presiding officer recognizes the member.
***if conversation becomes hostile, aggressive, or otherwise disruptive, online member will be muted, placed in the waiting room, and possibly removed from the meeting***
