Captain Travis Aguirre is currently assigned to FS10 in Phelan. Travis was hired as a PCF by Victorville FD in 2002, hired full-time in 2006, and transitioned with VFD to SBCoFD in 2008. He has been an EMT for 17 years and previously was a CPR instructor. Travis has been a member of the honor guard for the past 10 years and assists with the engineers level 2 testing, captain testing, and BC simulator. He has served as a divisional Rep for 2 years with the union and a Vice President in the local for the last 5 years.Travis sits in on the Ops leadership board as well as accident review board. He is currently in charge of transfers/bid. Travis recently received an award from VVC Foundation’s 2020 Young Alumni Hall of Fame award.

#SBCoFD crews recently responded to a vehicle fire in a remote portion of the Angeles National Forest. Crews were able to quickly make access and extinguish the blaze. No injuries were reported and the cause is currently under investigation.

Captain Dustin Krajeski is currently assigned to FS226 in San Bernardino. Captain Krajeski started his career in 2006 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Throughout his 14 year career Captain Krajeski has served in the north desert division, south desert division, valley division, and special operations as a training officer. Captain Krajeski served as the Tower Coordinator for Towers 5-9, leading over 150 firefighters through their 16 week initial training, worked with retired Assistant Chief Felgar to develop promotional workshops, and developed the live fire training program that has provided extensive live fire training to over 600 SBCoFD personnel. Captain Krajeski believes that above all else, we must be selfless in our career to truly serve the public and our Brothers and Sisters beside us.

Engineer Dustin Foulks is currently assigned to FS322 in Adelanto. He started his fire service career as a Victorville Fire Explorer in 2001. Dustin was hired with SBCoFD where he served as a Paid Call Firefighter-Paramedic and LT Firefighter-Paramedic for 4 years. Dustin was then hired full time with Upland Fire Department in 2012, where he served until the annexation into SBCoFD in 2017. Dustin promoted to Engineer in May of this year, is a Fire Explorer Advisor for the Spring Valley Lake post, and a shift rep for Local 935 High Desert Division. He lives in Apple Valley with his wife, Brittany, and their 3 dogs. They enjoy camping in their 5th wheel and traveling.

Firefighter Matthew Nadalet began his fire service career as a PCF in 2012. He became an LT Firefighter in 2014, and in 2016, Matthew was hired full-time with Tower 7. Matthew is currently assigned to FS226 in San Bernardino. He is married, and has two girls. Matthew holds a Bachelor’s Degree from CSUSB. He has also helped restore Upland’s first fire engine, a 1915 American LaFrance. (He did all the gold leaf and pinstriping) In his spare time he enjoys running his small business that does custom paint, and airbrushing.

Captain Rick Arnold is currently assigned to FS75 in Muscoy. Rick began his career with SBCoFD in 2004 as a paid call firefighter. In 2007, he became an LT Firefighter and in 2010 was hired full-time as a firefighter-paramedic. As a firefighter, Rick served on the EMS QA/QI Committee and served on the cadre for multiple LT Firefighter Towers. As an Engineer, he assisted in the engineer workshops and currently serves on both the Uniform and Telestaff Committees. In 2017, Rick competed in the Race Across America as a member of Team Fire Velo Norton Strong, in which funds were raised for the 935 Benevolence Foundation and brought awareness across the country of the high cancer risks firefighters face. Rick currently resides in Apple Valley with his wife of 11 years, Charity, and their two children, Paisley, 7, and Beckam, 4.

Engineer Matt Warren is currently assigned to FS10 in Phelen. Matt has been a paramedic since 2006 and with SBCoFD for 13 years. Since 2011, Matt has served as the Division 6 explorer post advisor. He was a member of the Tower 8 ladder cadre and is a registered state instructor and skills evaluator. On his days off, he looks forward to traveling, spending time with his girlfriend, friends, family, and hoping to attend concerts again soon.

Firefighter Andy Lujan is currently assigned to FS73 in Fontana as a Hazmat Specialist. He started his fire career in 1996 as a paid call firefighter at FS40 in Oak Hills. He was hired as a full-time firefighter at Fort Irwin FD for several years and was then hired at Victorville FD in 2005. Andy transitioned with Victorville FD to SBCoFD in 2008. He is married to his wife, Jamie, and they have two beautiful daughters, Katie, and Andie, who love to play soccer.

He was hired as a full-time firefighter at Fort Irwin FD for several years and was then hired at Victorville FD in 2005. Andy transitioned with Victorville FD to SBCoFD in 2008. Captain Rick Arnold is currently assigned to FS75 in Muscoy. Rick began his career with SBCoFD in 2004 as a paid call firefighter. In 2007, he became an LT Firefighter and in 2010 was hired full-time as a firefighter-paramedic. As a firefighter, Rick served on the EMS QA/QI Committee and served on the cadre for multiple LT Firefighter Towers. As an Engineer, he assisted in the engineer workshops and currently serves on both the Uniform and Telestaff Committees. In 2017, Rick competed in the Race Across America as a member of Team Fire Velo Norton Strong, in which funds were raised for the 935 Benevolence Foundation and brought awareness across the country of the high cancer risks firefighters face. Rick currently resides in Apple Valley with his wife of 11 years, Charity, and their two children, Paisley, 7, and Beckam, 4.

Engineer Matt Warren is currently assigned to FS10 in Phelen. Matt has been a paramedic since 2006 and with SBCoFD for 13 years. Since 2011, Matt has served as the Division 6 explorer post advisor. He was a member of the Tower 8 ladder cadre and is a registered state instructor and skills evaluator. On his days off, he looks forward to traveling, spending time with his girlfriend, friends, family, and hoping to attend concerts again soon.

They spend a lot of time at their second residence near Bullhead City, AZ, and out at Glamis sand dunes.

As a mechanic, he eventually became a PCF in Devore and attended the fire academy. Later, Scott realized he wanted to become a full time FF and needed to become a PM. He became a Limited Term FF (station 9) and enrolled In PM school. Scott spent 4 years as an LT, and then became one of the original Crew 40 (Camp 6) personel., serving as James Salazar’s original Squad Boss. He later left Crew 40 to start the second inmate handcrew as an FSA 3. Scott was hired full time out of the Camp in 2014 with Tower 5. He promoted to Engineer in 2018. Scott has been married for 10 years, and has 2 daughters. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, tinkering with whatever hotrod he has at the time, and home projects.

SBCoFD US&R crews recently responded to reports of a man threatening to jump from the top story of a parking structure. The Rapid Deployment Air Cushion seen here has been strategically placed in the county to be able to respond for events such as this.

SBCoFD crews recently responded to a TC Over the Side. The vehicle flew off the roadway approximately 50 ft down an embankment. Specially trained crews were able to quickly make access, extricate, and then ascend the the hill using a rope system.

Captain Jay Dimoff started his fire service career with Sycuan Fire Department in East San Diego County in 1988. He graduated Crafton Hills Paramedic program in 1990, and in 1994 became a PCF with SBCoFD in Yucca Valley. In 1998, Jay was hired by Combat Center Fire in 29 Palms, and in 2000, was hired full time into CSA 70/SBCoFD. In 2004, he promoted to Captain and served the South Desert Division as well as the Valley Division. He is currently stationed at FS44 in 29 Palms. Jay is also a department PIO, and on the SBCoFD IMT XBO team. In the last three years, he has organized, and helped facilitate the donation of 2 Type I engines, a Heavy Rescue, and Water Tender to the City of San Felipe BC Mexico. Jay has been married for 27 years to his beautiful wife, Rita, and have two grown children, Kyler, 23, and Katie, 20. Jay currently resides in Yucca Valley. He and the family enjoy going down to San Felipe on a regular basis.

Captain Sean Markey was hired by Upland FD in 2006 as a FF/PM. He worked through the ranks and promoted to Captain in 2015. Sean worked as a flight paramedic through REACH helicopter for 2.5 years. In his time with UFD, he was on the Union E-board, developed a business inspection program, and helped create the truck program/training. Sean is currently stationed at FS224 in San Bernardino City. He is truck certified and still holds his paramedic license. He is involved in interviews for new recruits for SBCoFD. Sean and his wife, Denise, live in Alta Loma and have 3 boys; Blake, Bryce, and Jace ages 10, 8, and 7.

Engineer Russell Bell started his fire career by taking an EMT class at Chaffey College in 1987. He was hired by Mercy Ambulance, trained by Mark Machal, partnered with John Commander, and worked alongside Dave Burkart. He obtained a paramedic certification in 1990, and was hired by SBCoFD at a whopping $8.26 an hour. In 1998, Russell transferred to Lake Arrowhead and still says that his best year was at FS92 with Capt. Simonton and Eng. McKay in 2001. He promoted to Engineer in 2002 in Wrightwood but worked as the paramedic on the ambulance. Currently, Russell is at FS53 with an incredible crew. He enjoys his family on his days off and dreams of becoming a professional basketball player.

Firefighter Paramedic Austin Muro began his journey as an explorer with Chino Valley FPD in high school. He has been in EMS for 7 years and a Paramedic since 2014, and worked for AMR, the City and County of Honolulu EMS. He was hired with SBCoFD with Tower 9, and is assigned to FS25 in Crestline. Austin is an explorer advisor with Post 94, and currently working towards finishing his USAR specialty requirements. He lives in Lake Arrowhead with his wife, Makenna, and their 2 dogs. On his time off, he enjoys surfing, boxing, playing music, and the outdoors.

He transitioned to SBCoFD in 2008. Jose promoted to Engineer in 2018, and Recently promoted to Captain in February 2020. Jose is one of the Spark of Love coordinators in the Valley Division and is part of the Engineer testing cadre. Jose lives in Fontana with his beautiful wife, Celeste, of 5 years, and 3 year old daughter Victoria.

Dan worked part-time for Adelanto FD during 1991 until he accepted a Captain’s position with them. He was the explorer post advisor, and PCF academy instructor. In 1999, Dan transitioned with Adelanto FD to SBCoFD and later transferred to FS53 where he assisted with training and supervising inmates, who worked alongside fire crews. Captain Tellez is currently assigned to FS53 in Baker. Dan has been married for 33 years to his beautiful wife, Suzanne. They have 3 daughters, Amanda, and Catalina. They also have 4 grandchildren, Josiah, Leland, Julian and Levi. On days off he enjoys spending time with family on the water, traveling, hiking, fishing, wood working and refurbishing furniture.

Engineer Brooks is an active member in the County’s USAR program and has participated in deployments to Montecito and Paradise CA. Jason has been married to his wife, Kaila, for 24 years and has three children, Courtney (21), Grayson (19), and Kaidyn (15). When Jason is not working he enjoys traveling, camping, fishing, and time with family.

He lives in the high desert with his wife, Ashley, and their 3 kids, Landon, Aubrey, and Lincoln. On his off time he enjoys spending time with family, snowboarding, coaching his son’s baseball team, and going to Angels games.

Ambulance Operator Pierre Machado is currently assigned to FS8 in Lucerne Valley. He was hired in 2018, and started working in Lake Arrowhead. Pierre has been working in EMS since 2015, starting out in LA County. Pierre is married to his wife, Breanne, and they reside in Rancho Cucamonga. They are expecting their first child, a baby girl, in June. During his off time, Pierre is a DJ and musician. His hobbies include playing a variety of instruments, attending country concerts, and working on cars.

Ambulance Operator Pierre Machado is currently assigned to FS8 in Lucerne Valley. He was hired in 2018, and started working in Lake Arrowhead. Pierre has been working in EMS since 2015, starting out in LA County. Pierre is married to his wife, Breanne, and they reside in Rancho Cucamonga. They are expecting their first child, a baby girl, in June. During his off time, Pierre is a DJ and musician. His hobbies include playing a variety of instruments, attending country concerts, and working on cars.

Captain Craig Williams was introduced to the Fire Dept. in his high school ROP fire science program. He started as a PCF, LT firefighter, and fulltime Firefighter Paramedic in 2001. Craig promoted to Engineer in 2006, and to Captain in 2014. He is currently assigned to FS25, USAR certified, and serves as the Div. 3 Union Rep. He enjoys serving the community that he lives in and grew up in. He has been married for almost 25 years to his best friend, Jamie and they have three daughters, Olivia 20, Gracie 17 and Sophia 15. They enjoy all the mountains have to offer, boating, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing and hiking.

Engineer Brian Craven began his career in Phelan at FS10 as a PCF. In 2005, he transitioned into the LT firefighter program and became a paramedic in 2006. He was hired full-time in 2008, and assigned to the North Desert division. Brian promoted to Engineer in 2019, and is currently serving the Town of Yucca Valley at FS41. He enjoys spending time with his amazing wife, Jill, and two incredible sons, Wyatt and Zachary. They enjoy traveling, camping and spending time in the outdoors.

Firefighter Paramedic Michael Stachowicz started with SBCoFD in 2006 as a PCF. He became a paramedic in 2013, and worked for AMR for 3 years. Mike was hired full-time with SBCoFD in 2016 with Tower 7. He is currently assigned to FS322, ARFF certified, and working on his truck specialty.
